Broadband has been given lip service by many politicians who’ve lacked understanding of how the system could work and who’ve been overwhelmed by bureaucratic estimates of the cost along with powerful elites controlling internet provider business to near monopoly levels. Internet is not an option or a perk. It is the bare minimum bar to entry into the modern world and should be a fundamental privilege of all Nova Scotians. High-speed Internet access is no longer a luxury. It’s crucial for Nova Scotia to be connected and do business with the rest of the world. It is as important as electricity and, in reality, a lot cheaper. But to get it done we're going to have to get the mandate to stand up to some very powerful people. |
