Walls don't work. I've written and produced over 300 hours of TV shared by audiences in over 100 countries with just one simple message - the ocean is the planet.
Today I'm thrilled to see Mr. Sanders so critically support Ms. Clinton and even more thrilled with the prospect that Adm. Stavridis might be in line to be the Clinton VP running mate. It's easy to forget how bad things were 7 1/2 years ago when Mr. Obama came to be president. Things have come a long way since the greed, recklessness and warmongering brought our world near to the brink. The encouraging signs of economic and social progress since have only invigorated and inspired folks to look for and expect more and better especially for those left out and left behind. Understanding the ocean - and the US navy's place on that ocean and how it is the principal stabilizing force in geopolitics today - will help define the goals we want for the future and build us the time we need in a stable, peaceful world to reach them. It's an exciting time. |
